The Luibueno’s website is a responsive, Wordpress based site with a theme geared towards use in the restaurant industry. The theme was slightly modified to accommodate slight layout and functionality customization, but mostly left intact to speed up development and reduce design costs.  As with most Wordpress themes, the photos and images do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to visual appeal, so I knew that we needed to get some very specific shots of the food and ambiance.

Website Photography

In addition to designing the new website, photography services were provided including creative direction, photography direction, color correction and digital manipulation, product arrangement, and project coordination. The photos were shot in natural light, on site with a 50mm prime lens at f1.8.

Re-Designing the Logo

Designing the Luibueno’s logo was a challenge because the client wasn’t sure what they wanted. The business was going through a transition of renewal, as were the owners, and they knew they wanted change, but they weren’t really sure how. They knew they wanted to keep the fish/wave element from the previous logo design, but that was all in regards  to design elements. As for look and feel, the client had expressed that she wanted the knew brand to suggest a more upscale and fun experience—a reflection of where the new menu was going. This was enough to get going and so I began brainstorming and sketching ideas on paper and in Illustrator and Photoshop.
